Bringing Comfort to Kids: Rural Metro Fire and Kada's Promise
Emergencies are scary for anyone, but they can be especially overwhelming for a child. A car crash, a house fire, a medical emergency—these moments can turn a child's world upside down in seconds. That's why Rural Metro Fire is proud to partner with Kada's Promise to bring a little comfort to kids during their hardest moments.
More Than Just a Toy
Through this partnership, our firefighters now carry special comfort bags they can hand to children on emergency calls. Whether a child has been in a motor vehicle collision, experienced a medical emergency, lost a home to a fire, or witnessed another traumatic event, these bags offer something powerful: a distraction, a source of comfort, and a reminder that someone cares.
For our crews, helping a child means more than treating a physical injury. A small act of kindness—like handing a scared child a stuffed animal—can ease fear, build trust, and create a positive connection during an otherwise frightening experience.
Why This Partnership Matters
We're incredibly grateful to Kada's Promise for their generosity and their shared commitment to supporting children in crisis. Together, we're able to make sure that when our crews respond to an emergency, they're delivering more than medical care. They're delivering hope and compassion too.
Sometimes the smallest gestures make the biggest difference. Thanks to this partnership, our firefighters are equipped to bring comfort to kids exactly when they need it most.
How You Can Help
You can support this effort too. Rural Metro Fire is collecting new bears and stuffed animals in support of Kada's Promise. You can drop off a donation at any Rural Metro Fire Station in Central Arizona.
Your donation could be the thing that helps a scared child feel a little braver on one of the worst days of their life.
