Rural Metro Fire Services To Partner With New San Tan Valley

San Tan Valley's Town Council held a significant pre-holiday meeting, highlighted by two key developments. Town Manager Brent Billingsley reported that the town has received approximately $2.3 million in state funds through the Highway User Revenue Fund and Vehicle License Tax, marking an important early step toward financial stability.

The council also unanimously approved an interim three-year agreement with Rural Metro for fire services, which carries no financial obligation for the town. The deal allows Rural Metro to maintain and expand operations under its subscription model while the town evaluates longer-term fire protection options.

Vice Mayor Tyler Hudgins emphasized the urgency, noting that San Tan Valley incorporated with roughly 100,000 residents and has a responsibility to address public safety needs quickly.
